LEAVE ROOM FOR GOD
Sunday 4th December 2022- First Service
Genesis 1:2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
If you can still allow the Holy Spirit to move in your life, there is still hope for you. So you need to Let everything stop moving but give room for the Holy Spirit to move no matter what is happening in your life.
Read Genesis 12:1
God told Abraham to leave the familiar and comfort zone to a land that He would show him.
Many of us love the comfort zone but when you leave that comfort zone, you are forced to look unto God. The Bible says;
Isaiah 51:1-2 “Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, You who seek the Lord: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. Look to Abraham your father, And to Sarah who bore you; For I called him alone, And blessed him and increased him.”
Who is Abraham?
He is the father of faith.
Romans 4.16-18 NLT So that's why faith is the key! God's promise is given to us as a free gift. And we are certain to receive it, whether or not we follow Jewish customs, if we have faith like Abraham's. For Abraham is the father of all who believe.
17 That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, "I have made you the father of many nations." This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who brings into existence what didn't exist before. (NLT)
18 When God promised Abraham that he would become the father of many nations, Abraham believed him. God had also said, "Your descendants will be as numerous as the stars," even though such a promise seemed utterly impossible! (NLT)
Many of us throw in the towel when things look hopeless forgetting that when God speaks, He is not going to do it but He has already done it. God finishes you before He starts you because He declares the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10).
Luke 1:28-35 ...Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
That was the faith of Abraham being manifested in Mary's life.
Every word God gives you must force you to go back to Him. Allow the Holy Spirit to brood over that word! (Genesis 1:2 AMPC).
Luke 1:36-37 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.”
What is that telling you that it is not possible? It is not about you, but it is all about God.
Whatever God told you will come to pass because He does not lie. Let God be God in your life.
Read John 11
Jesus told Mary and Martha that the sickness would not lead to death but a few days after that, Lazarus died and the two sisters thought that they had been deceived by Jesus.
Jesus wanted them to let Him be God in their lives.
John 11:43-45 Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”
[45]Then many of the Jews who had come to Mary, and had seen the things Jesus did, believed in Him.
If Jesus had healed Lazarus, people would not have witnessed the miracle in Mary and Martha's home. It was this miracle that made an entire city follow Jesus.
Jesus had told them that Lazarus would not die but he died. God's interpretation is different from our interpretation. Ecclesiastes 8:1
God is so committed to His word that what He said will come to pass because nothing is impossible with Him.
STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED, WE LOVE YOU. PASTOR BEN OCHOLA!
