NOTHINGNESS; THE SPRING  OF TRUE PRAYER

Wednesday 7th December 2022

It is my prayer that the Lord through His Spirit will bring you to a place in your walk with Him where you are aware of your nothingness without His help.

2 Kings 6:26-27 Then, as the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried out to him, saying, “Help, my lord, O king!” 27 And he said, “If the LORD does not help you, where can I find help for you? From the threshing floor or from the winepress?”

True prayer is birthed from a place where you know that if God does not come through, you are nothing.

2 Chronicles 20:3-4, 12 3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 4 So Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.

12 O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”

King Jehoshaphat exemplified it to us, it is such prayers that will provoke the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Brethren, let us move away from performance and religion and engage our hearts like the scripture describes the effectual, heartfelt fervent prayers of Elijah.  (James 5:17)

Luke 22:44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Jesus the son of the living God, expressed His nothingness and He sustained help from the Father.

Some of you have not yet thrown yourselves in the hands of the Lord because you still have your strength from somewhere that is not in the Lord.

2 Samuel 24:14 And David said to Gad, “I am in great distress. Please let us fall into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies are great; but do not let me fall into the hand of man.”

True prayer is throwing yourself in the hands of the Lord and telling Him if not You, no one else?"

Like a cry of a drowning man shouting for help, that should be the place our prayers and intercessions should be flowing from.

Colossians 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

When something becomes a labor, that means your energy, zeal, passion and everything within you is in that prayer.

For us to move into that place of fervency in prayer we must be passionate and zealous, there must be a fire in our spirits to bring about that prayer that produces alignment in the lives of men, not just yours.

Matthew 21:13 And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ”

Every sin, failure, immorality, decay, etc. can be traced to the altars that have lost their fire. When prayer exists as a lifestyle, thieves and robbers will come and take over.

As you continue seeking the Lord, awaken the giant inside of you, the prayer man.

STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVOURED, WE LOVE YOU. PASTOR BEN OCHOLA.
