PRESERVATION BY THE WORD
Thursday 21st July 2022
God gave us the Word that He might provide us with the roadmap for our walk in this world.
2 Peter 1:19 (KJV) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
The Word of God gives us the sphere or circumference of our activities, the realm with which we conduct our activities.
Just by following the instructions of the written code, you can order your life as the Holy Spirit empowers you and live a life that brings honor to God.
The surest word, is not the Word you get from a prophet, pastor, apostle, etc but from the Written code.
Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee
The Word has the potential to keep a man from walking into places or doing things they ought not to do.
It preserves/holds you from finding yourself engaging in activities that are not consistent with the code of God in your life. Such is the power and potency that exists in the Word.
That is why neglect of the word by a believer is a direction to disaster. Any believer who does not give the Word of God priority is an accident ready to happen.
Acts 20:32 (KJV) And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
The word of God doesn't only build you but also has the potential to preserve your life from falling into sin.
When God created Adam and Eve, and placed them in the garden of Eden, He never warned man against the presence of the devil in the garden.
The preservation and protection of Adam and Eve were embedded in the instructions God gave them. This instruction alone disarmed the devil.
Genesis 2:17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."
God being all-knowing knew that at a certain time, the devil would show up to tell them to eat of this tree.
So God gave them an instruction that would preserve them from temptation. If Adam and Eve obeyed that simple instruction, the devil would have become irrelevant. So the preservation of man was in the given instruction (Revelation 12:11).
Matthew 4:4 But He answered and said, "It is written, [ 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.']"
When the devil appeared to Jesus after he had returned from the wilderness, Jesus only remained stuck on the Written Word.
He did not say "I bind you or curse you." He was so full of the Word, and just said, it's written.
The written code is what preserves you from the attack of the enemy. You are as safe, protected, and strong, as the Word, you have at heart.
Read the book of Judges
God promised the entire land of Israel a land flowing with honey and milk and eventually, they took over but for them to keep in that place, God gave them instructions.
As long as they stayed in instructions, the land was theirs. The moment they began to do otherwise, they began to lose possession of the land.
The practice you engage in, as long as it is consistent with the Word of God will manifest the blessing of God upon your life.
Ephesians 4:27 nor give place to the devil.
The devil is not as strong as we think he is, he only takes advantage of our disobedience.
He can only work on us if we give him room by neglecting the Word.
The word of the Lord is the protection, strength, preservation, campus you use to set your way into high places with God.
