Description

SIN HAS NO DOMINION.

Thursday 24th, February 2022

One of the primary attributes of God is holiness (departing from inequity, separated/ set apart/ distinct/not common).

2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ DEPART FROM INEQUITY"

Adam and Eve lost their place in the presence of God through sin (Genesis 3:8).

Ezekiel 18:20 The soul who sins shall die...

Sin brought death (separated man from God).

Romans 6:11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jesus died on the cross to save the sinner (take away sin) (1 Peter 3:18). However the desire of sin is always on our inside to rule over us.

Sin opens us to satan. That's why the Bible encourages us to live a life of Holiness (John 14:30).

Hebrews 12:4 You have not yet struggled and fought agonizingly against sin, nor have you yet resisted and withstood to the point of pouring out your [own] blood.

Sin desires to gain an upper hand in your life. Strive against it!

The foundation of God's house however stands that those who know Him should stay away from sin.

What does sin do to a man?

1. Sin stains/corrupts and separates us from the presence of God.

2. Sin dilutes spiritual awareness such that we don't hear from God causing us to live a life that does not honor Him (Genesis 4:7).

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God [is] faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear [it.]

Sin will keep on throwing desires at us as long as we are still humans. We must be willing not to participate in what it lures to overcome.

Resistance to sin even when it knocks is what causes us to be supplied with grace to overcome it (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Romans 5:20 But where SIN abounded, GRACE abounded much more,

God's grace can mount up to nothing in your life unless it's taken advantage of. This means that you don't overcome sin in your power but in the power of the Holy Ghost (Zechariah 4:6, Ephesians 4:26-28).

Resist the devil, overcome temptations, and stay away from sin so that you can be a useful vessel in the presence of God (Revelation 3:21).
