THE WORD PREVAILS
29th SEPTEMBER, 2022

Romans 14:18-19 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” 19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

There was nothing in the realm of man that Abraham could hope on to; he had exhausted all human resources as far as trusting God was concerned.

Abraham exemplifies unto us a lifestyle of trusting God even when there is no sense (a senseless trust in God): "an abandoning of oneself into His hands" where people outside look at you and say: ''what a waste"; because human reason has been exhausted. At this point, the divine enablement (power of the Holy Spirit) kicks in to sustain you until you see the manifestation of what the Lord has spoken to you. (Zechariah 4:6, Isaiah 51:1-2)

Sometimes life can place you in a corner where you don't know what to say/what you saying like Peter because of fear or terror (Matthew 17:4). However this God we serve answers prayers otherwise we wouldn't be here praying; this is not religion but it is what is there for us to trust Him.

Psalm 119:89 Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.

We have testimonies that we can hold on to but above all the unchanging Word. The settled Word will settle you, your case, issues, etc, all you got to do is to keep your confidence in Him.

Matthew 17:5,8 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”
8 When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.

Life will reduce to a place where the only thing left is Jesus but it is at that point that you will begin to see the hand of the Lord work mightily in your life.

John 12:24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.

When something falls to the ground, it dies. This is where most believers throw in the towel and turn their backs or compromise and try plan B yet you can not know resurrection until death has occurred (Philippians 3:10).

When you come to the end of your story, that is when God begins because He doesn't share His glory. Germination (new life, resurrection) only takes place when the old dies that the new/powerful may come up.

Psalm 105:19 Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the LORD refined him.

Many people fall off when they are undergoing trial by the Word but all these things happening around you don't come to kill you but to check out if you are real or fake, true or a lie (James 1:2-4).

Those who carry the genuine seed stay true (stay through) and come out glorious with the resurrection power at work.

Genesis 17:18-19 And Abraham said to God, “Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!” 19 Then God said: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.

Yes, Ishmael was there but the covenant was between God, Isaac, and Sarah and the wait continued till chapter 21 when Isaac came forth.

You may ask yourself: "Lord, what is all this manifestation of your power about? Why was I slain? I felt your power yet things are not changing."
That is why the scripture encourages us to look unto Abraham, he had a spectacular encounter with God but things still stayed the same.

One thing you need to do is to stay with the Word; even when it does not make sense and not to abandon it and lean on spectacular visions, manifestations, and dreams because it is the only thing that stays with believers in times of fire (Isaiah 55:8).
