TRIUMPH OF MERCY
Monday 18TH July, 2022

2 Samuel 12:14-20 However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also who is born to you shall surely die.” David therefore pleaded with God for the child, and David fasted and went in and lay all night on the ground.

For seven days, David petitioned God on account of His mercies and goodness that He would change His mind and save his child.

David's desire was for his child to live, but God had something else in His mind which David understood. He, therefore, went to the presence of God and worshipped instead of mourning because he understood that God's ways are better than our ways.

2 Samuel 12:20 So David arose from the ground, washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. Then he went to his own house; and when he requested, they set food before him, and he ate.

The answers to things we pray for may sometimes not come the way we want them. This doesn't mean God has not heard our prayers, but He always brings the best into our lives (His mercies will always seek the best for us).

2 Samuel 12:24 Then David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in to her and lay with her. So she bore a son, and he called his name Solomon. Now the Lord loved him, and He sent word by the hand of Nathan the prophet: So he called his name Jedidiah, because of the Lord.

Solomon was a son of the mercies of God.
Therefore as a believer, don't throw in the towel, yield to God, and let mercy prevail over your life.

Genesis 18:32 Then he said, “Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?” And He said, “I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.”

When God unveiled His plan to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham negotiated with Him for the righteous knowing God is merciful.

Abraham pleaded till ten people because that was the degree his heart could take him: that's how far he understood the mercies of God.

Genesis 19:29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt.

God remembered Lot on the account of Abraham even when Abraham had pleaded with Him up to ten people.
Mercy goes beyond your prayers, faith, or expectations (Ephesians 3:20).

We cannot pray fast enough. Ask any man of God who is worth their soul, they know that whatever they have accomplished is not because of prayer, fasting, or alignment, but the mercies of God.

Psalms 89:3-4 “I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn to My servant David: ‘Your seed I will establish forever, And build up your throne to all generations.’” Selah

As you pray and seek the Master, understand this truth, and once you are conscious of it in your walk with God, you will enjoy the benefits thereof.

That is why God's promise (covenant) to David has stood till today because it was enshrined in His mercy (2 Samuel 7:16, Luke 1:32).

Mercy will always deliver results no matter what is on that account. However this is not permission to live recklessly but to understand that there are days, times, and seasons in life that what you do, say, or pray is not enough. You leverage all that and call on the mercies of God (Hebrews 4:16).

Mark 10:48 Bartimeaus understood the mercies of God and that's why he cried out.

Father, I evoke the covenant of mercy: the sure mercies of David beyond our prayers, fasting, and expectations. Let mercy triumph over judgment and break every legality.

STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVOURED. WE LOVE YOU. PASTOR BEN OCHOLA.
