WHO ATTRACTS THE MERCIES OF GOD?
Sunday 27th November 2022 1st service

James 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

If you want to be a candidate who will experience the diverse dimensions of the mercies and grace of God which is the help of God you have to walk in humility.

No matter how needy you are, if the disposition of your heart disqualifies you, grace will not find expression in your life (Hebrews 4:16)

1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Paul was trying to tell us that he is a grace-made man. It is very difficult to walk in pride when you catch the revelation of God's grace and mercy.

God gives us the key to accessing more grace; humility. Do you want more grace? Be humble!

Who is a humble person?
That person who knows that without God, they can do nothing.

As long as God doesn't take the first place, then you are walking in pride.

John 1:14,16 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth... And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.

Jesus was so full of grace that He had an overflow.

1 Samuel 2:3-5 “Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the Lord is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed. “The bows of the mighty men are broken, And those who stumbled are girded with strength. Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, And the hungry have ceased to hunger. Even the barren has borne seven, And she who has many children has become feeble.

The Bible is disqualifying everything that men put their trust in. We run after wealth yet the greatest wealth is in the person of the Holy Spirit.

Where is your confidence? What makes you so bold when you are moving around?

1 Samuel 2:7-9 The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up. He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He has set the world upon them. He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. “For by strength no man shall prevail.

Be careful and don't think you know it all. Look at God who had everything but humbled Himself (Philippians 2:8).

God weighs your words and actions and promotion comes when He sits and makes judgment (1 Samuel 2:3, Psalms 75:6-7)

Do you want a promotion? Don't be proud and talk no more arrogantly.

Read Daniel 4:27-34

King Nebuchadnezzar had a lot of power but he forgot that he was an instrument in the hands of God. He was so proud.

God helped him by sending him a dream but he did not pay attention and God withdrew his mercy from him.

2 Samuel 1:27 “How the mighty have fallen, And the weapons of war perished!”

The mighty fall when the mercy of God is withdrawn.
Men forfeit mercy when they speak arrogantly, use their positions to mistreat people, and anointing to manipulate people.

God gave you that position so that you may be a blessing to others. Remember you are not the only one, but it is God's grace and mercy that has placed you there.

Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.

Walking in humility is what will qualify you for the mercies of God.

It is my prayer that God helps you to finish well because the end of a thing is better than the beginning (Ecclesiastes 7:8).
