This is a BIG one. I believe that the universe puts certain people into our lives for special reasons. Amiri could’ve been placed for a multitude, because his abundance of talent and drive is never outdone by his humble and down to Earth attitude. Amiri was one of just under 30 new 11th graders in the class of 2018 at Andover and certainly a big addition. He had already expressed interests in journalism, music, and hockey. The majority of his schooling prior to 11th grade was at home, thanks to his Mother. Amiri uses Education as the springboard for our conversation. We speak about sampling in hip-hop, the NBA’s usage of platforms, Maya Moore, and the impossible top 5 MC list. Though Amiri only spent 2 years at school with me, he made his mark in many ways, including giving a TedTalk during our Junior Winter(link below).
