Description

What’s up world, welcome to episode 8 of Thee Polaroid Podcast. This episode was quite literally history, as we had our first verified( on both IG and Twitter!) guest, Kaedi Dalley. Before she was 1/5 of the international superwoman group Citizen Queen, we were in the same class in Prep 9. I always noticed that Kaedi had a strong passion for singing, and she always performed in our program talent show. I went to Andover and she went to Taft, which we spend some time breaking down here in the podcast. A few summers at the A cappella academy were just what the doctor ordered for Dalley to showcase her talents. It’s not easy being a bass and being a woman, but Kaedi makes it look easy. Her quiet, never cocky confidence bleeds through her music and makes us all feel. Surprisingly, Kaedi had never taken voice lessons until 2020. She’s taken a growth mindset, pacing her growth from budding star to international household name. We got really real on the Podcast, discussing lack of recognition because of arbitrary factors, especially white dominated settings. Kaedi processes having multiple fan pages and Stans, as well as being verified on not one, but two separate social media platforms. The next few years are going to be big for Kaedi, both in her personal life and as the bass in Citizen Queen. Original songs are on the way! Her words not mine. Kaedi explains the meaning of the group name at the very end of our episode, and it was a pleasure to sit down with someone my age, paving the way for others.
