When we hear the word “sabbath”, our minds naturally gravitate toward a picture where it’s quiet and we’re alone. There’s no one else around except for God while we rest and recharge. And even though this is a critical and needed spiritual practice, togetherness should play a part in our ability to rest. The invitation to follow Jesus is an invitation to a family, and family makes time for family. We invite people into our world - the good, bad, and ugly and welcome them into every part of who we are.
