We were lucky enough to have Jake Sumner on our basktball team back in the day and I was fortunate to be his coach. The toughness and perserverance he brought to the team was pricelss. I'm still lucky because I get to draw on memories of him showing up getting the job done no matter the obstacles in his way as I try to teach my little daughter those same qualities.
