In episode 20 of the Barbell Nerds Podcast, we welcome Jake Tuura of Youngstown State University to the show.
Jake works with a number of different sports at Youngstown and is the creator of jackedathlete.com which features many training programs like his vertical jump protocol. He also runs his own podcast with features awesome guests and awesome conversations to push the field of Strength and Conditioning.
We discuss the variance of volume appropriate for athletes of different training levels. This spurs us to discuss building buy-in with athletes through the training stimulus and the athlete's desire for training. We then chat about how to objectively measure the success and failure of a Strength and Conditioning Coach.
We cannot thank Jake enough for joining us on our podcast. If you'd like to follow more of his content follow him on IG @jaketuura, @vertical_jump_protocol, @hypertrophy_clusters, the Jacked Athlete Podcast (iTunes and Spotify), and jackedathlete.com.
