We have a "Course" of action in life, and this course we could also call "the curriculum." There are two—the ego's curriculum, or the Holy Spirit's Curriculum. The first leads us to "war" and inner conflict; the second leads us to peace. Peace is a condition necessary for us to enter into the Kingdom of Knowledge. We need the Atonement to erase all of our past wrong thinking and bad choices that resulted in "war," and the opponent of our inner peace. There are no real "opponents" with whom we do battle. We have to give up the whole notion there is something or someone to "oppose." The Real Curriculum will lead us to Joy. War is the opposite of Joy. Which curriculum will we choose for our "course" of living? It's an obvious decision.
