Description

Paul and Glenn are back for another action-packed fun episode. This week in our ANZAC Day special, we look at the Trans/Tasman rivalry between Australia and New Zealand in sport. We also pay our respects to the Australian and New Zealand soldiers who have served in war and those who have lost their lives.

In this episode some of what we will discuss include.

- The close rivalry in netball between the two countries and the prestigious trophy they play for every year.

- The history of Rugby League between the two nations and the tough, brutal encounters.

- An infamous brawl that took place on the sidelines between two forwards in a Rugby League test in 1985 and the two culprits involved.

- The dominance of New Zealand rugby in the Bledisloe Cup. And in Super Rugby.

- New Zealand teams that play in some of Australia’s national sporting competitions eg, New Zealand Warriors, the Breakers.

- Australia and New Zealand at the Olympic Games.

- How Aussie Rules was the first time the two nations played sport against each other in 1868.

- The history of Cricket between the two nations in all three formats of the game.

- History of Soccer between the nations and appearances at the World Cup.

- New Zealand’s impressive performances in horse racing and motor racing.

- Some well-known New Zealand racehorses and V8 Supercar drivers.

We have our Claps and Slaps for the week and Glenn has a crackin joke. We also have our Quiz and Who Am I? and Where Are Now? segments.
