Paul and Glenn are back for another action-packed and entertaining episode. This week in the first of a two-part series, we will discuss some sporting events/competitions that no longer exist, i.e., have bitten the dust. In this episode, some of what we will discuss include
- Motor racing events e.g., Gold Coast Indy cars, the 100-mile race.
- The sad state of affairs with the Commonwealth Games and the lack of interest in hosting it.
- An international sporting competition created by a well-known American entrepreneur that was aimed to bring harmony and good-will between the East and the West.
- A major Australian golfing tournament with some impressive champions and were the winner received a gold jacket, to now no longer existing.
- Rugby League competitions e.g., The Mid-week and Pre-season competitions, the International 7’S.
- Australian Indoor Tennis Championships in Sydney
- The Australia Games which was held only once i.e., 1985.
- Little known events e.g., The Gorge Games, Peace Games, Islamic Games.
- The Afro-Asian Cup of Nations in soccer and the Mitropa Cup.
We have our Claps and Slaps for the week and Miss Olivia drops by to do the Quiz What Am I? We have our Where Is It Now? segment and Glenn finishes off the show with a cracking joke.
