Hello, today I want to talk about what is a good affiliate marketing commission and just overall thoughts on a good compensation plan.
One of the earliest adopters of affiliate marketing was Amazon. If you advertised one of their product links and someone clicks on that link and goes to Amazon and buys something you would get a percentage of the money.
The affiliate commission is not that much it's anywhere from 1% to 10%. In the early days of the Internet when I got started I could get almost any web page to the top few spots of Google.
You could write a blog post on a niche share a few Amazon links and get paid some ok money. I really feel Amazon put affiliate marketing on the map and nowadays Amazon doesn't need any more business, because it's crushing it.
One time I even sold supplements where I would get a few dollars per sale and as you can imagine I just didn't make that much money.
The examples I'm giving you is the hard way to make money with affiliate marketing. Small commission amounts means you need a lot more sales and that really is the hard way.
Then informational products came out and the great thing about them is you could get a larger percentage of the money because their was not shipping and it was digital.
You might have heard of Clickbank where if you sale one of their products you could get maybe 50-75% of the money up front.
It sounds good right? Well, it really is not. One of the dirtiest secrets of affiliate marketing is you might make 75% of the money up front, but the deep sales where the real money is the person who created the informational product is going to get. Sometimes they don't even tell you about this because they want all the money.
Sometimes there is not sales funnel there is just 1 product, maybe an upsale and that is it. As you can imagine you are leaving lots of money on the table.
The money in affiliate marketing really comes down to the sales funnel. Here is a very cool thing which I want to share with you. There are tons of product creators out there where they need you. Yes they want someone to promote there stuff and they are willing to pay really good money for it. As affiliate marketer we can be picky.
This I really honestly feel is the sweet spot for a good affiliate marketing commission amount. You don't have to create the product or the even the funnel, piggy back on someone else's success and still make a shit load of money.
The very most important part of this is the deep sales. I'll give you an example if there are multiple deep sales of over $1,000 dollars then you really don't even need that many sales to make good money. This is what you want.
You don't have to settle for 1% of the money on an amazon product. You don't even have to settle for 50-75% of the money of a Clickbank product. There are programs out there, I know of a few where you keep 100% of the money the first few levels of the sales funnel and then make 50-75% of the money on the deep sales of over $1,000+ plus.
Even better they will give you the sales funnel. Even better if the creator knows what he is doing it will sale. The best part of this you can use your creative juices with in the driving traffic part. You can go after paid traffic, free traffic write e-books and give them away.
The point is this is by far the easiest way I've found to make money and is the ideal affiliate marketing commission right? The only way to get better is to create the products and funnel yourself, which is not easy, and may not even be worth it.
