Hello, today I want to answer the question, why is affiliate marketing difficult. When it comes to affiliate marketing there really are 2 parts to it. There is the traffic part, which nearly everyone is fascinated with. Everyone just wants to get more traffic.
The second part is turning that traffic into money. When I got started in affiliate marketing a long time ago I worked with a group where we would write articles on Ezine articles and then put affiliate links directly at the end.
That method doesn't work anymore. For starters you can't get traffic from Ezine articles like you could 10 years ago. The internet landscape changed and it's always going to change.
Now, everyone is talking about TikTok and maybe the new thing will be one day could be “Snap Day” where you can post only 1 time a day. That is the first part you need traffic. The second part is probably a whole lot more important. This is turning that traffic into money.
This part is 95% of the entire business. When I didn't get this part right, affiliate marketing was difficult . This reminds me of the story of the BackStreet Boys Boy Band. They were singing and having all these women fall in love with them.
The problem was there manager was stealing nearly all the money. So they were dancing, working and singing and they didn't make that much money.
They were probably thinking man, this singing business is difficult. What they needed to do was stop focusing on traffic and focus on the backed of the business. They needed to figure out how to get that part fixed right?
How to turn the traffic into money, which is a little important if you want to get paid. This reminds me of a CPA Affiliate, which is a whole other topic. Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.
In business there is the marketing department and then there is the accounting department. Both are needed right? You might be wondering how do I figure out how to convert the attention or traffic into money. What I did what was a big mistake was think I could figure it out on my own.
I paid for an autoresponder, and just started experimenting with different messages. I was also promoting the wrong stuff, doing everything all wrong, barely making any money. That is the hard way, it's much easier to just get help. Find someone who is very good at this and humble yourself to that person. Like baby Yoda, I would learn from baby Yoda.
The good news is I got a lot of traffic, just like the Backstreet boys band. Now that I fixed that part, my income shot up. Which makes sense right?
