They are created things that become such a focus for us that they can deflect our worship from God and compete for our attention, time and energy. Idols keep us from living in the fullness of the God we were created to serve and from experiencing our purpose in this life. We all have things in our lives that we are in danger of allowing to take God’s place. Not just bad things but very good things. What are those things in your life? How do we order our life so we don’t become an idol worshipper with the terrible results that will bring?
