As coaches start the school year it’s incredibly important to have a plan for how coaching will be communicated in a variety of ways. Coaches will need to work with their principal to determine the goals of coaching overall and the how & when teachers will learn about coaching & how to access coaching. It’s also important to do some fact finding before communicating about coaching to better understand teacher mindset and previous experiences about coaching. Setting up the year with clear goals & sharing them with teachers will help inspire collaboration (rather than cause confusion or resistance).
