I COULDN’T TAKE IT.

8th grade baseball practice

I was the back up catcher

I was benched all season long

I wasn’t even getting reps in practice anymore

They had the 3rd string catcher now getting more reps in at practice

I was sitting on the bench like a I never existed

The guys on the team didn’t like me

they didn’t like that I was trying so hard to earn my spot

They didn’t like seeing my extra effort being put in

So they ridiculed me

They avoided me at all costs so I could feel like an outcast.

So I made my choice after that day to leave the team.

I thought for years that I was a loser for doing that.

That I should’ve “toughed it out”

I realized if my environment wasn’t allowing me to grow then I don’t want them to see my growth.

I now am so grateful I left because I realized the power of changing my circumstances.

I later on joined my wrestling team, I joined rugby, I played travel baseball.

I played with organinzations that allowed me to grow, that wanted me to get better on a daily basis.

You might have had those people on your team or even friends that just went through the motions

That never put any extra effort in.

Skip workouts.

Eat like shit.

You become that if you choose to stay in that environment.

YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR CIRCUMSTANCE.

AND function at your full potential.
