I ALMOST FAILED THE TEST….

16 years old taking the SAT

Im sweating…heart is racing

This test determines where I could be in the next 4 years

This determines my future

My hands started sweating, my face started heating up even more than it did before

I’ve never been a good test taker, I’ve always had to study harder, put in more hours, get extra tutoring, do the extra credit to get by

I was placed in the lowest classes in high schools and I grinned to get out of them because I refuse to settle for anything under my FULL potential

The LONGEST 3 hours of my life go by…Test is over..

2 weeks later my scores are up and I was super disappointed

“I can’t get into my schools with these scores”

I bitched and whined for about an hour but ultimately that was going to do nothing for me

So I got a tutor… took practice after practice test

Then finally 3 month later

I scheduled a retake, as soon as I opened that booklet I knew this time would be better

And I finally got the scores I needed to get into University of Rhode Island and all my other options.

Some of you straight up just give up too fast

You can’t expect your path to lose 10-20lbs to be perfect

This fitness journey will have its up and downs

But don’t let one obstacle like a plataeu or not seeing progress for one week or two weeks stop your drive and momentum

When you see an obstacle that SHOULD TRIGGER YOU TO GO EVEN HARDER

Learn from these little failures…

You didn’t lose weight…good…your eating too many calories

Not gaining muscle…good…your not getting stronger on your lifts in gym

Stop looking at these obstacles as stop signs and start viewing them AS GREEN LIGHTS!! LFG!!
