The injury that changed my life..
Senior year
Home tournament
Came in ranked 4th in the division for my weight
Made some changes to my game
And finally I was ready for my match
Stood up got my first point
Hearts pounding
He gets top im trying to escape
My opponent grabs my ankle
Meanwhile I’m going the opposite direction
Before I know it my fibula is snapped completely while my ankle is twisted 180 degrees
In shock, I didn’t even comprehend what happened
Ambulance shows up
Immediately I head to the ER and get surgery done on my foot and im screaming in pain as they get my foot manually back in place
A long 6 months of recovery was ahead of me
Crouches for 4 months
Parents helping me shower
Friends carrying my back pack
And im headed to the gym on crouches cause I was fucking obsessed
The entire time im saying “im gonna make a massive comeback”
The day I get cleared for lower body I’m squatting trying to perfect my form
3 months later I squat 315 lbs
2 years later I squat 410lbs and deadlift 515lbs
Im playing rugby, did a half ironman and a bodybuilding prep
