It sucks not getting stronger man, it sucks when your grinding putting in all this work. Cause ultimately if we aren’t getting stronger, then we aren’t gaining muscle, if we aren’t gaining muscle then fuck...were wasting time and here’s where a lot of you go wrong

A big issue is guys go into the gym, thinking that they are gonna keep getting stronger forever with no structure at all. They are gonna do the same exercises, try to max out all the time and eventually plateau! It’s bound to happen! I’m not saying this to be negative I’m saying this to bring some perspective to the people who are doing this currently.  Because I know in the long run (and the short run), you will get stronger by running a structured program.

So here’s my 3 tips on how to get stronger:

  1. TRACK YOUR WORKOUTS!! Even if you aren’t following a structured program, you should still be trying to track your lifts either in the notes on your phone, a notepad whatever is more convenient for you. This is important for strength over time especially because you can look back to see what progress needs to be made
  2. RUN A STRUCTURED PROGRAM/WORK WITH A COACH!!! Again you can just get a program online, free even on different websites, but the good thing about coaches is they hold you to those goals you set out to do for yourself. Regardless having that structure to your workouts,
  3. EAT IN A SURPLUS!!!(200-500 calories more a day) Surplus meaning just eat more and start to gain some weight. Do you HAVE to do this, no, you don’t, I’ve said this on a podcast episode that I would recommend this because lifting heavier it really might help just to have some more mass packed on because it’ll be safer for your joints, you’ll be able to lift the weight easier, and IN MY OPINION this is not proven in a study for anything I feel as though your less likely to be injured with a higher body fat when lifting heavier weights. Cause some guys never get stronger because they never wanna gain weight, sometimes gaining weight is the answer sometimes it isn’t it’s all based on the individual.
