What they don’t tell you to prepare for after Sports….

Confused On Your Purpose

Every workout, game, practice up until you retired had purpose behind it

A unique mission

Whether it was to be a state champ, your team to make it to the playoffs, your team to get a title

It was VERY Clear on why you were working so hard

So when thats taken away, which feels like it happened literally overnight

You start to question…fuck “what is my purpose with my body”

“What is the Mission Now” and a lot of ex-athletes end up dealing with depression because they keep trying to think of that next mission or new thing in their lives

Stop Thinking of the Next “Mission”

YOU ARE THE NEXT MISSION….

You’ve been making sports your priority your whole life, but you haven’t developed a healthy relationship with food yet, you haven’t been able to go to the gym without relying on a crutch

Your Purpose Now is to Learn How to function for yourself !!

So heres 3 steps to to start becoming independent and making your Health a Priority not a Chore

  1. Write down a New Why For your Training. No not playoffs, not performance, im talking about you being on this earth longer, im talking you wanting to be able to play with your kids, your just feeling proud of the reflection in the mirror.
  2. Track your food intake on myfitnesspal and Eat 3 Nutrient Dense Meals Per Day
  3. Train 4-5 days a week, and have fun with your training, doesn’t have to be power cleans and olympic lifts. Do Some bodybuilding training, throw in 2 days where you go do some recreational sports (softball, BJJ, Volleyball). This is a time to enjoy your life.
  4. After 3-6 months of you focusing on you, then revisit signing up for something to push you out of your comfort zone. Like a marathon, a triathlon, a BB Show, etc. If your at a healthier state with the relationship with your fitness.

Start to make yourself the Mission, there doesn’t always have to be a “Next Thing” there can sometimes be a period where you do focus on yourself and thats exactly how you’re going to become that best version of you, moving forward.
