“I don’t even know who I am anymore”
The last 5-10 years of your life
Was all rooted in this sport, that’s who you were
That’s how people knew you, that’s how you based your life off, that’s how you structured your days
This was your everything
1000s of hours invested now, it’s just gone in the snap of a second
And your left now 85% of your whole life was this, and now it feels like you have to find out who you are again..?
You never know how much it was part of you until it’s truly gone
Now your days are left asking…what’s my purpose?? Who ammi outside of this? What’s the reason to even stay in shape anymore ?
Your trying to figure out now who you are as your working this full time job, have bills to pay, it just feels like everything changed in the flip of second and you didn’t have time to process it all
It’s not weird to feel this way, but now you have to start thinking what is my next mission? Where can I put this energy towards ?
So here’s 4 steps to take as your transitioning out of sports to find the next mission
1. GET IN SHAPE, and confident about yourself. No matter what your best endeavor is, if you hate what you see in the mirror it’s going to be that much harder to lead by example and have conviction in what you do, if you don’t even take yourself seriously.
2. Look at your YouTube pop-ups, what’s coming up for you, that peaks your interest?? Hobby, side hustle, etc.
3. Take action on that thing that’s been on the back of your mind. 1 thing athlete have is the power execute. A lot of people were scared to even show up to tryouts you put yourself out there and did the thing. Now apply that same action taker mentality on your next mission , you feel called to do.
4. Pray on it. Which route is truly the one God calling you for? Then take action on the one that aligns with you fully after that!
And if you still feel like you lack clarity with your purpose after sports my DMs are open and I’m happy to see how I can help 🙏
