I felt like a loser after this…

I remember sophomore year of high-school

I decided that wrestling wasn’t for me because I had dealt with an elbow fracture the year before just in my first year

And honestly…I was scared to go back to 3 hour practices of straight conditioning, running, wrestling live and risking potentially getting hurt…again…

So I committed that entire year to my school’s baseball tryouts instead, off season work, summer travel ball, and getting stronger as often as I could in the weight room

That was actually the year I fully committed to lifting and getting stronger, I took my workouts to a new level now

Baseball tryouts came and…I completely flopped

Missing ground balls, throwing terribly, striking out during BPs

My ONLY up was that my hitting was pretty decent haha

I looked at the list of guys who made the team and I wasn’t surprised that my name wasn’t on the final roster

After that I actually went and tried out for the track team and ALSO got cut from the runners & from the Shot-put team

So I got cut from 3 different teams in a manner of about 3 weeks

I went back to baseball that summer for my travel team but I decided that next year that I was going back to wrestling and that was the best choice I ever made

Most Likely if I had made the team I would’ve gotten further on my journey for baseball but that wasn’t God’s path for me

He didn’t want me playing baseball anymore, he wanted me to get uncomfortable as much as I was scared and didn’t want to go back, I couldn’t forgive myself if I didn’t get back on the Mats

Then that next year I became second string @150lbs, and I won my first few matches, then the year following I was the starting 160lber and I went on to be top 4 in my county

Not that I ever became “great” at wrestling I was mediocre at best…But the ranks, the classing it didn’t matter but it was the process that I had to go through, that God wanted me to go through to instill work ethic that took me to the next level in everything I did after that

That work ethic helped me with bodybuilding shows, starting my Buisness, getting on deans list in college, literally everything I’ve ever done wrestling laid that foundation for me

So if you feel like your losing right now, if you feel like things aren’t working, GOD is adjusting your plan to put you on the path your meant to be on

Keep pushing, keep pursuing him and he’ll reveal the path slowly to you
