CARDIO BEFORE OR AFTER YOUR WORKOUT ??

I’ve seen this question pop up a good amount over the last few years and especially with summer season coming up I figured I would acknowledge it.

This answer will be just overall general idea of it, but essentially you can technically do either, however though I wouldn’t go all out on the cardio before the workout because with weight lifting being the priority you want to make sure that it’s staying the priority as opposed to going so hard on the treadmill or stair master that eventually those machines turn into the priority.

However though if your main priority is to run a marathon or a tri-athlon or some sort of endurance event then cardio would be prioritized. But if your MAIN purpose is to improve your overall physique then cardio should still be implemented but not as big of an emphasis compared to weight lifting in this case.

So simply put you can do cardio before or after your workout, but don’t go too hard on the cardio before hand. Once the cardio goes past the point of a good warm-up you should stop and save it till the end of your workout. It anything you could save it all to the end of your workout.

For example if I have to run 2 miles for cardio on a certain day, I could do 1 mile before and 1 mile after, or I could do the 2 miles after the workout, but to me at least (not everyone) that’s a lot of energy put towards the running that could be taken away from the weight lifting. Hope this helps guys !!! Happy Wednesday, Time to do my cardio ;)
