James begins his letter by addressing three topics: facing trials, seeking wisdom, and battling sinful desires. What do they all have in common? Authentic Christians are those who realize that life is not about them and all about Christ. God will do whatever it takes to empty us of ourselves including allowing trials we cannot control, situations we don’t understand, and desires we must battle.
