If you can discredit the messenger, you can discredit his or her message. The false teachers attempted to discredit Paul's Gospel by questioning his authority and apostleship. Nevertheless, Paul makes it abundantly clear that neither his message nor his apostleship is from man. In fact, he will never be accused of being a people pleaser. He is a servant of Christ!
