Two-time Emmy winning producer/director Michael Pressman (Picket Fences, Chicago Med, Law and Order SVU) has made his live musical theater directorial return with the Los Angeles premiere of the intergalactic love story COME GET MAGGIE. This is the story of a brilliant, but socially awkward, Maggie - a physicist who’s out of place in 1950’s post-war suburbia where gender roles are rigidly defined. But when Maggie is abducted by Aliens, she finds love and hope for a more expansive, inclusive humanity.

Pressman is partnering on this project again with three-time Emmy winning writer Diane Frolov (both collaborated recently on Chicago Med) as well as John Perrin Flynn, who produced Pressman’s last Los Angeles play, Finks, which was nominated for two Drama Desk Awards and was a New York Times Critic’s Pick.

Pressman, who started his career in feature film comedy, has worked primarily in dramatic long form and series television in recent years. His two recent stage productions, like COME GET MAGGIE, were also set in the 1950’s and featured themes that continue to be relevant. His Broadway revival of Come Back, Little Sheeba, which received six NAACP Theatre Award nominations and garnered its star, S. Epatha Merkerson, a Tony Award Nomination, as well as Finks, the westside hit spotlighted issues at the forefront of 1950’s America’s social and political struggles.
