Description

George Stevens Jr is a writer, director, producer, playwright, and author whose dedication to the preservation & celebration of American film spans over the last 60 years. He is the founder of the American Film Institute, creator of the AFI Life Achievement Award, and co-creator of the Kennedy Center Honors. George is the recipient of an Honorary Oscar, two Peabody Awards, 14 Emmys, and 8 WGA Awards. Earlier this year, President Biden awarded George with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor. 

George will be adding another accolade to this already-long list of awards as he'll be receiving receiving Turner Classic Movies’ Robert Osbourne Award at this year’s TCM Classic Film Festival for his work in preserving the cultural heritage of classic film for future generations.
