DEPENDENCE ON GOD
Day 239
Date: Wednesday 26th, August, 2020
Text: John 15:4-5
[4]'Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
[5]I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

THOUGHT CODE: "A life that depends on God bears much tangible fruit"
Dependence is an act of total and complete surrender to God. One cannot say he/she depends on God if he/she has not surrendered completely to God, surrender in the sense of yieldingly and giving up oneself in PRAYER, WORSHIP and OBEDIENCE to the Maker. It is an act of giving up your heart and mind, body, soul and spirit to the Holy Spirit consciously. Without this act, it shows self dependence, which depicts pride (God resists the Proud). Such person won't live out the kind of life and purpose God has planned for him or her.
God only uses those who focus and depend on Him, glorifying Him in humility.
A life of dependence on God is close to God.
A life of dependence is obedient to God.
A life that depends on God by faith, through the Holy Spirit bears much tangible fruits (John 15:4-5), because it relies totally and is attached to the maker.
We see total dependence on God in the life of our perfect example, Jesus Christ. He relied completely on the Mover, the person of the Holy Spirit. He couldn't and wouldn't do anything without Him, He only spake the Words of the Father that dwelleth in Him.(John 14:10
[10]"Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.")
If Jesus, while on earth depended on the Father, how much more we in our dispensation today?
COUNSEL: Quit living in "pride" open your heart to the Holy Spirit and depend totally in Him.
PRAYER: Dear Father, I handover all that I am to you today, as I rest in your plan for my life, in Jesus Name, (Amen).
