In our discussion of Orange's novel today we touch on the differences between Opal and Edwin -- in terms of their struggles and their identities, as well as how their chapters, at the level of form, structure, and language, give us insight into them. We also rehearse a larger point about how to read novels, focusing less on plot description or thematic considerations and more on how structure/language influence our interpretations.
