Welcome to Part II of our newest mini-series!
In this episode we delve deeper into defining the heart and discerning what is within our hearts. Ultimately, we have to deal with the fact that there is good and bad in our hearts even as we do give our life to God. We are each still in a process of becoming the person we were meant to be. The key to having the wise and good heart that we are meant to live from is cultivating a constant connection with God and submitting ourselves to Him in everything. We can't always trust ourselves, but we can always trust God and trust His work in us. We also talk a little bit about the error of intellectualism and how trying to live by our own knowledge and logic won't bring us into God's best anymore than just going with our own heart all of the time. God does want to take us by the hand and show us His will for our life. Even when what He wants is for us to respond in situations creatively and make plans from our own unique personalities, He will show us when that is the case and help us to stay grounded in that effort. When God gives us laterality, He means for us to enjoy that process in partnership with Him as His friends.
