Welcome to Part II of our mini-series all about mindset!
Starting where we left off, Shawn talks about how he realized that when we let ourselves act out of obligation without examining our real reasons for doing what we do, we actually sabotage ourselves because we can't find happiness in what we're doing and we continue to do things that are unnecessary or even harmful to us. Being well-thought-out and intentional about our actions and behavior is what we should do instead of letting pressures outside of us use our own habits of thinking to push us into rhythms and interruptions against what we should really be focusing on. Another important observation we talk about is the importance of not letting ourselves get caught up in assigning too much urgency and severity to things that we actually should be more light hearted about and not take with so much gravity on ourselves. Many things are not nearly as high stakes as we can feel that they are when our emotions become intensely involved or we hyper-focus on them in a negative way. We also discuss the importance of having a mindset that is disciplined toward the realization of our ultimate desires and goals.
