Welcome to Part V of our mini-series all about mindset!
We begin the episode talking about attitudes and how it is truly our choice what attitude we have. If we are honest with ourselves, we choose a bad attitude because we feel like it, not because life is forcing us to have it nor because it is going to be helpful to us in any way. Having the right attitude – such as in deciding to be positive about challenging ourselves and adopting healthy changes – accelerates us in our growth and decreases unpleasantness and brings it to a sooner end. We can think of something we are doing or about to do as really hard and create dread around something we need to do and that will make things feel a lot harder in the process of doing them. But if we choose to look at it either in a more neutral way or even psyching ourselves upward to be positive about it, we will find that it is a lot easier to accomplish. We share further strategies and tactics for choosing an attitude that empowers us for life. Ultimately, we boil down the answer to getting into the best attitude for our life: devoting ourselves to the pursuit of wisdom and choosing self discipline above our other, more immediate desires and appetites.
