Welcome back to Asian Lifing and the start of a special 4 episode mini-series, reconnecting with my cousin, Sarina Herman (@rinabherman) after a decade of not speaking or seeing each other.
Our family traumas and upbringings in a traditional Asian/Vietnamese Family have to lead to a lot of conflicts and dramas between our parents and family growing up. There were a lot of fights and tension between family members growing up on our dad's side of the family, they just didn't seem to get along, which lead to an eventual rift and disconnect in our family after years, since our grandma's passing.
Finally, 10 years later and a lot of healing work between the both of us, where we are both able to talk to each other and began this journey to open up about the past, the wounds, and have open conversations with each other, and reconnect!
