ECC MUSIC WORKSHOP was a vision James C. Chambers had to unite choirs, singers, groups, directors, song writers and musicians across Chicago, Illinois. In 1988 that vision went into action. At the first Workshop there were over 200 delegates who attended and participated. The vision James had was to have contributions from around the city and to conduct various classes, trainings and collaborations. On this show there are excerpts of the first workshop culmination. Since the choir had rehearsals each evening following the classes and trainings the decision was to organize material to record. Although the 1988 Mass Choir was recorded, the recording did not get released as anticipated.
There was exceptional music submitted by songwriters to name a few , William Hamilton, Lonnie Hunter, Bishop J.C. White (of Connecticut), Amaaris Palmore, Abe Cooke, Brenda Joyce Moore. The musical staff was phenomenal which included Mark Taylor, Anthony Harmon, David Brock, Tyrone Dickerson, Bryant Jones, Cameron Jarmon, Wayne Barnett, Leslie Sanders, Carlos Patterson, William Hamilton. The directorial staff included James C. Chambers, Bryant Jones, Steven "Puff" Jones, Lonnie Hunter, Abe Cooke & Brenda Joyce Moore.
