This month's Thrilling Tale, "The Changing of the Guard," was a teleplay by the Twilight Zone's Rod Serling, written by his wife, Anne. It is a beautiful holiday story of an elderly professor forced to retire the day before Christmas vacation, feeling he has accomplished nothing in his lifetime as an educator. The episode aired in 1962 and starred Donald Pleasance as Professor Fowler.
