Marta and Mary, two sisters who receive Jesus into their home. Martha is preoccupied with household chores, while Mary sits at the feet of Jesus to listen to him. There are two things that differentiate Martha and Mary: it's the difference between focusing on "doing" (like Martha) and focusing on "being" (like Mary), and the value of becoming true disciples of Jesus, which involves listening to him, loving others, and bearing fruit in life. Mary's choice to sit at the feet of Jesus is praised as the "better part."
