Jesus made seven different statements as he was crucified for us.
Each of them has a deep meaning applicable to our life today.
1. Father forgive them: even on his deathbed Jesus shows compassion
2. Today you will be with me in heaven: Jesus shows us that it is never too late!
3. Woman here is your son, Son here is your mother: Jesus loves our families
4. My God why have you forsaken me: Jesus proves the abandonment of the Father, so that we might have life
5. I thirst: in staying away from God, our soul has a constant thirst, which seeks the Presence of God
6. It is finished: finally each of us can be reconciled with the Father, thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus
7. Into your hands I commit my spirit: Jesus trusts God's will until his last breath
Jesus is the "second Adam", who defeated sin and death in the second Garden, to make us go away free!
