We have someone who understands our struggles in confronting compromise. Jesus was tested three times.
Temptation 1 - Appetite - Yielding to the culture of materialism.
When we allow circumstances to dictate our actions, instead of following God’s will, we sin.
Temptation #2 - Recognition - Using GOD for our own purpose.
Why was Jesus brought on top of the TEMPLE? It wasn’t the highest building in Israel but every eye was on it! That would have IMMEDIATELY made him FAMOUS!
Temptation #3 - Authority – Compromise
Probably the most cunning of the three temptations. Satan was offering BACK to Jesus the dominion that was taken away because of man’s fall. How? BYPASSING the cross and taking him to a place that No soul would have seen.
This is the greatest news: Because Jesus didn’t compromise himself, we live and Because he didn’t cave, the door is open, to every person to become a child of God
