Jesus wanted his disciples, and consequently us , that there’s a huge difference in living our Christian faith “out of the abundance” (casual Christianity) and living “intentionally”
The “Out-of-the-abundance” faith is just a Casual Faith that makes us say:
● If there’s time, I’ll go / do this
● If there’s a return, I’ll get involved
● If I feel up to it then it’s ok
● If I have extra cash (from the bonus/pay rise) then I’ll give
● As soon as I get rid of my debt I’ll give more
There is always a “precondition” in order that a “condition” can happen.
INTENTIONAL FAITH instead, will cost something to everyone at some point to some degree
● Regardless of my feelings I will be steadfast
● I will make time to be part of Christ’s Church (activities – gatherings/small groups)
● My “giving” is vision driven and not out of surplus living
● My current condition is not my limit, it’s the springboard of my opportunities.
We don’t offer something to GOD which will not cost us anything!
Let’s commit ourselves to serving him wholeheartedly , let’s INVEST our BEST in God’s Kingdom. Our BEST TIME, BEST TALENTS our BEST RESOURCES.
It’s not time to be casual about our faith, let’s be intentional!
