What we’re drinking:
Paul - Black Velvet Manhattan
- 3 oz BV, 1 oz sweet vermouth, 2 dashes of bitters, 1 cherry
Nick - Pendleton
https://pendletonwhisky.com/
- 40% ABV / 80 Proof
- Nose: Vanilla, honey, butterscotch, and custard join together for a pleasing aroma. Hint of freshly grated cinnamon bark.
- Taste: Warm fall fruits and honey are balanced with a hint of spice to balance the flavor.
- Finish: A medium balance and smooth finish.
- Oak barrel-aged and distilled in Canada - before it’s bottled glacier-fed spring water is added from Mt. Hood (Oregon’s highest peak). So, everyone think back to Tincup - this is basically Canadian Tincup.
Other Pendleton’s:
- Pendleton 1910 - an 80 proof 100% rye whiskey aged 12 years - I NEED TO FIND THIS
- Pendleton 1910 is another nod back to the Rodeo from which they take their name - the Pendleton Round Up was started in 1910.
- Pendleton Midnight - this one is 90 proof - the big claim to fame with this one is that a portion of the blend is aged for over six years in American brandy barrels
- Pendleton Directors’ Reserve - back to 80 proof - this one is aged 20 years
- The only one in the collection that doesn’t have the glacier water claim to fame is the 1910, or the 100% rye.
