We like to think that many of the assignments and people in our lives are permanent. But often God, will allow those things and people to serve a seasonal purpose. We get attached to things that God may be calling us to detach from. We want to take everything and everyone with us. Old ways of thinking, old mindsets, old behaviors and old traits doesn't allow God the room needed to do a new thing in our lives. You must remember that everyone you start with won't always finish with you. Everyone has their own individual assignment. It doesn't make them bad or mean they're the enemy. It just means that we've accomplished what God set out for us in a season and it's time to say our goodbyes before walking into our next season. God can't do a new thing when we still have a death grip on that old thing!
