Today, I got to talk to Ana Evans.
Ana Evans is a survivor of domestic violence and stalking. She is the co-chair for the Crime Victims Advisory Council, CVAC. CVAC is a group of survivors of violent crime. They participate in training for those who work with victims, including those in the Criminal Justice System as well as community organizations. They tell their stories to inmates in pre-release victim impact programs in the Colorado Department of Corrections. Ana has testified on several domestic violence bills that have passed into law. She is a certified Yoga instructor, Reiki Master and teacher with an emphasis on trauma recovery. She leads workshops with survivors to help them own their stories and use them to affect change. Ana is passionate about educating people about domestic violence and helping those who have experienced it learn to live well and peacefully.
