Turns out that for Episode 138, I accidentally posted the audio to a previous episode...ooops!
Here is the episode that was supposed to be posted back on April 25th!
This is the old caption that still applies:
Integrity and Respect. We almost always look at integrity and respect in regards to our relationship to others. We desire the people we know, and even the people we don't know who know of us, to determine that we are people of integrity and worthy of their respect and admiration.
But what about self-respect? Violating your own integrity is more damaging, in many ways, to your view of yourself than the view others have of you.
The world today tells you to always accept yourself as you are. That you are perfect and wonderful and there's no need to strive for anything, no need to change.
But you know that's bullshit. So today we are talking about the need to face your fears. We're talking about avoiding things that you hate, the things that make you dislike yourself. Creating a life worth of respect, especially self-respect, requires both saying yes to the things we ought to do and no to the things we shouldn't do.
