On this episode of the Pawareness Podcast, we welcome Brooke Howell, the PR Communications Coordinator for The Love Pit, a 501c3 foster-based rescue in Dallas, TX that’s on a mission to ‘Save the Pit Bull’ through rescue, rehabilitation, training, education, and advocacy. Brooke shares many of the disheartening misconceptions and myths around bully breeds, then details the aspects of The Love Pit that differentiates them from other rescues. She describes how the adoption and fostering processes work and why crate training is a magical tool for dog owners.
Brooke also speaks on the emotional side of fostering dogs, sharing the story of one of the greatest dogs of all time, Figgy Pudding, and talks about the best ways to introduce a new dog to your resident dog(s).
“I’m ready to get heartbroken again because it means that I’m saving these dogs.”
