A collegiate superstar at the University of Kansas, Oerter was always at his best during the Olympics. A 4x Gold Medalist, Oerter remains arguably the greatest discus thrower in human history.
In addition to his successful athletic career, Oerter was an accomplished artist and helped other former Olympians find success in that field as well.
