The 3rd overall pick in the 1988 MLB Draft, Avery breezed through the minors & joined an already stacked pitching staff in Atlanta during the early 1990s.Avery won the 1991 NLCS MVP, earned an All-Star appearance in 1993 and helped the Braves win the World Series in 1995. Sadly, arm issues derailed what could’ve been a Hall of Fame career.
